George Adrian Witt (November 9, 1933 in Long Beach, California) is a former professional baseball player. He was a pitcher over parts of 6 seasons (1957–1962) with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Los Angeles Angels and Houston Colt .45's. Witt was a member of the 1960 World Series champion Pirates. For his career he compiled an 11-16 record with a 4.32 earned run average and 156 strikeouts in 66 appearances.[1][2] He has also been a High School physical education instructor, a science teacher, and a baseball and tennis coach; as well as a former Foreign Study League group leader, leading high school students through a number of European foreign capitols comparing different governmental systems.
